Charles Yao
Charles was born in Ivory Coast. He lived in Yamoussoukro then in Abidjan. He won The McGill MasterCard Foundation scholarships after graduating from high school with an excellent academic performance. He pursued his study in Agro-Environmental Science and Agribusiness Entrepreneurship at McGill’s Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences in Canada.
He is passionate about food, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and business in agricultural field. After his parents lost their family farm due to the civil war, he quickly realized how important role agriculture plays in sustaining human life at the social and economic level, and through the accessibility to good foods.
In summers 2020 and 2021, he worked with Sazerac company (Montreal, QC) where he learned and operated the beverage production machines, controlled quality of beverages and labeled and packaged products. Charles is currently interning with MotherFood International (MFI). He works with MFI by conducting research for developing proposals, seeking partnerships, and drafting business plans to improve nutrition, health, and economic outcomes for targeted communities in multiple countries in West Africa.
