MotherFood offers a $5,000 grant to Loom Chocolate

MotherFood International has given a $5,000 grant to Loom Chocolate , a company based in Abuja, Nigeria. Loom Chocolate sources the most flavourful cocoa beans in Nigeria and transforms them into some of the best chocolate in the world.

“We love what Uzo has built and see a big opportunity for her to expand her business with a new fortified product line. Supporting female entrepreneurs who can address maternal and child malnutrition aligns perfectly with our mission at MotherFood” stated Chris Emergui , Global Partnerships.

“This grant will allow us to develop and test multiple nutrient dense prototypes. We will also conduct market research and taste tests with a sufficient sample of consumers to identify preferences, collect feedback and help improve the product.” Said Uzoamaka Igweike Founder of Loom Chocolate

MotherFood is committed to tackling maternal and child malnutrition globally. By partnering with existing food manufacturers, they scale up operations and fortify products to enhance nutritional impact.

Loom Chocolate is on a mission to inspire everyone in our community to create exceptional products with what they have around them. They are taking the lead by crafting delicious chocolate and other cocoa products from the bean-to-bar using Nigerian cocoa beans and other locally grown produce.
